主講人簡(jiǎn)介：
吳建福教授是港中深的講席教授。他于2004年當(dāng)選美國(guó)國(guó)家工程院院士，同時(shí)也是美國(guó)質(zhì)量協(xié)會(huì)、數(shù)理統(tǒng)計(jì)研究會(huì)、INFORMS、以及美國(guó)統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)會(huì)的會(huì)士。他曾榮獲1987年COPSS主席獎(jiǎng)、2011年COPSS Fisher講席獎(jiǎng)、2012年Deming講席獎(jiǎng)，此外還有Shewhart獎(jiǎng)?wù)拢?008）、潘文淵技術(shù)獎(jiǎng)（2008）、以及佐治亞理工1934級(jí)杰出教授獎(jiǎng)（2020）和Sigma Xi科學(xué)研究會(huì)Monie A. Ferst獎(jiǎng)（2020）。他是印度統(tǒng)計(jì)研究所1998年Mahalanobis紀(jì)念講席獲得者、日本統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)會(huì)與東京統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)學(xué)研究所2016年首屆Akaike紀(jì)念講席獲得者、ENBIS 2017年Box獎(jiǎng)?wù)芦@得者、以及滑鐵盧大學(xué)名譽(yù)博士。
吳教授發(fā)表論文190余篇，指導(dǎo)博士52位，其中有過(guò)半執(zhí)教于美國(guó)/加拿大/亞洲/歐洲的統(tǒng)計(jì)/工程/商業(yè)的研究院系，有28位為著名學(xué)會(huì)ASA，IMS，ASQ，IAQ, INFORMS 或IISE的會(huì)士，有4位為重要統(tǒng)計(jì)期刊的主編，有1位為加拿大皇家學(xué)會(huì)院士。他與Hamada共同撰寫(xiě)了《Experiments: Planning, Analysis, and Optimization》一書(shū)（Wiley 2021第三版）、與Mukerjee共同撰寫(xiě)了《A Modern Theory of Factorial Designs》一書(shū)（Springer 2006年出版）。在 1985 中科院的訪(fǎng)問(wèn)演講（以及 1997 密西根大學(xué)） 他首次提出“數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)”這個(gè)名詞。
Brief Introduction of Professor Chien-fu Jeff Wu
C. F. Jeff Wu is Chair Professor of CKHU-SZ. He was elected a Member of the National Academy of Engineering (2004). A Fellow of American Society for Quality, of Institute of Mathematical Statistics, of INFORMS, and of American Statistical Association. He received the COPSS Presidents’ Award in 1987, COPSS Fisher Lecture Award in 2011, Deming Lecture in 2012. He has won other awards, including the Shewhart Medal (2008), the Pan Wenyuan Technology Award (2008), Class of 1934 Distinguished Professor Award and Sigma Xi Monie A. Ferst Award both at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020. He was the 1998 Mahalanobis Memorial Lecturer at the Indian Statistical Institutes, received the inaugural Akaike Memorial Lecture Award in 2016 sponsored by the Japan Statistical Society and the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tokyo, the 2017 Box Medal from ENBIS, and an honorary doctor degree at the University of Waterloo.
He has published more than 190 research articles. He has supervised 52 Ph.D.'s, out of which more than half are teaching in major research departments in statistics/engineering/business in US/Canada/Asia/Europe. Among them, there are 28 Fellows of ASA, IMS, ASQ, IAQ, INFORMS and IIE, four are editors of major statistics journals, and one is a Fellow of Royal Society of Canada (FRSC). He co-authors with Mike Hamada the book "Experiments: Planning, Analysis, and Optimization" (Wiley, 3rd ed. 2021) and with R. Mukerjee the book “A Modern Theory of Factorial Designs” (Springer, 2006). He coined the term “data science” in 1985 (during a lecture at Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing) and in 1997 (in a public lecture at U. of Michigan). See Wikipedia under “data science”.
